North Air Compact 200 respiratory protection I bought this unit about 5 years ago, but only used it for 6 months, and then about twice a week. It is like new. Made in the USA. Cost over $1200 It has a battery operated fresh air pump on the belt that draws in air through the 3 filters, which are rated for just about anything. The clean air is pumped to the back of the hood, and blown into the hood past the wearer's face. If the battery gets low or the filters get plugged, an alarm sounds, and it vibrates. It is a " Powered Air-Purifying Respirator (PAPR) approved by the National Institute of Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH)." Included are: belt with filter cartridges, pump, and control unit, battery charger, and hood with clear face plate, flow tester and one new suit.
