Deckhand/Crew Positions Njord Marine Service has been in business since 2017. Our company operates and crews vessels which service the BC Aquaculture sector in a supporting role. We are seeking crew for our workboats which service the BC aquaculture industry in a supporting role. The vessels typically engage in net management, treatment support, farm site logistics, freight runs, grid work, net washing, Etc.Our vessels work on 10 and 12 hour day operations which include 15 days onboard 13 days offshift. The vessels are modern and safe work platforms and offer up to date living conditions with all amenities for laundry and cooking etc. as well as proper crew state rooms. Regular provisions are supplied. Job Description and responsibilities Support captain on all required tasks Work on farm sites with farm staff adjusting farm infrastructure as needed Ship husbandry and regular seamanship Work around hydraulic deck cranes and capstans Work in a team with other crewmembers and client staff. Participate in safety meetings Skills, abilities, and requirements MED DVS or higher MED certification Marine Basic First Aid Experience in the Aquaculture Sector General Seamanship OFA Level 3 an asset but not required for all positions Crews marshal at Campbell River and Qualicum where there is secure parking and transport in company vehicles from there to the vessels east and west of Vancouver Island.
